Who is Behind Mumbia Attacks?

TWO (2) dozen young and well-armed Muslim terrorists landed Wednesday night at the shores of Mumbia, the financial center of India, and wrought havoc and death among innocent civilians.

The sophisticated and well-planned attacks were mainly directed against Westerners, but it did not spare Indians and other nationals who were either on business or on vacation in the upscale city of Mumbia.

An American who survived the gruesome carnage, said the attackers were ' evil men and have no soul', who fired their automatic weapons. Indiscriminately at cafes and restaurants frequented by Westerners, killing and wounding hundreds of civilians.

The magnitude of the killing spree that has recorded some 160 dead and 327 wounded showed some fifteen (15) police officers killed and a score of army commandos who flushed out terrorists from their well-entranced control rooms of two (2) 5- star hotels- the Taj Mahal and the Oberoi, that are mostly frequented by foreign guests.

International news organizations reporting on the scene say that in the midst of the terror, and after the firing had come to a near end, the financial center of India, that is Mumbia, had its economy not only lay in ruins but more so the blood of the innocent was spilled all over the city.

The Muslim terrorists who allegedly came from Pakistan carried backpacks with the most modern AK-47 automatic rifles and handguns, several magazines of spare ammunition and large numbers of grenades and bombs. Experts say that the Muslim raiders divided themselves into seven (7) teams with 3 or 4 members and almost simultaneously attacked hotels, railway stations, cafes, a Jewish establishment and even a police station where a very large number of casualties lay dead or wounded. Chabad, a known Jewish center was  attacked killing the Rabbi and members of his family, including several others.

Fifteen (15) foreigners, including their children, among them Americans, British, French, Canadians and Japanese were fired upon and killed by the terrorists. Some eleven (11) of the militants were however killed by army commandos, nine (9) were allegedly captured, while the rest are still holed up in the huge Taj Mahal hotel trying evade death or capture.

All the worst things appear to be happening in India and its bitter rival Pakistan, and the main source of trouble are the Muslim militants who bring their perverted ideology to an otherwise peaceful and democratic world.

In a largely Christian nation like the Philippines, ceding a portion of Philippine territory to form a separate state in the guise of an ' ancestral domain' is like putting a timebomb in the midst of an otherwise peaceful country. This separate state can be the launching pad of terrorists for attacks not only in the country but elsewhere.

The Autonomous Region of  Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) where the Muslims are given enough freedom to govern themselves, but still subject to Philippine government authority, is a worthy project of former Pres. Fidel Ramos. Allowing this to disintegrate in favor of a separate Muslim state, is not only dangerous and a culpable violation of the Constitution, but can be the start of all the worst things that can ever happen to this country. - from the Looking Glass, Sunday Post

Buried Treasures in Bohol Philippines

Written by Joe Espiritu       Four persons died in a treasure hunting accident last week. They died for nothing. Many had lost their shirts in the venture, the propensity for Filipinos to get rich quick attribute to the treasure hunting mania. The sad part is that only the ignorant venture on the search, those in the know, being sure that nothing will come out of the effort would not think of investing money, time and effort – this time lives – in a fruitless enterprise.        There had been stories of people getting rich uncovering treasure troves in unlikely places. Most stories are false. Ancient graves of archeological and anthropological value had been desecrated by treasure hunters. They had found nothing. Those people may have struck it rich but not from some hidden riches. Contrary to what other people say, there are no buried treasures in Bohol . If there had been, they were unearthed years ago.         If one traces the history of this province from the first time the huma
